Gram Swawlambi Swadeshi Swaraj Foundation (G3S Foundation) is a national level Not for Profit, Non-Governmental Organization based in Delhi – India and registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 on July 28, 2016, by the graduates of the University of Delhi. We work for social and economical upliftment of the children, youth and their families through our different welfare projects. Started with slums education project in 2016, we have worked on many other important aspects so far, which includes women empowerment, environmental protection, flood relief, menstrual hygiene management, digital literacy, skill development, anti depression drive, homeless awareness and protection of child rights etcetera.
Our team’s objective is to make the villages self-sufficient and to put an end to the migration from rural to urban areas. We attempt to provide better and progressive opportunities to village-folk and to the underprivileged sections of the society who have already migrated. We provide and promote formal, non-formal and vocational education to the marginalized sections of the society. We focus on empowering the status of women and children in rural and urban slum areas. We also work toward the protection of the homeless people in the capital of Delhi by apprising them about the service made for them by the government like Night Shelter. We counsel and motivate them to sleep in the night shelters rather than spending their night on footpath or road.
‘Gram’ means Village. ‘Swawlambi’ refers to an individual who is independent and self sufficient. ‘Swadeshi’ means made and sold in our own country. ‘Swaraj’ means Self-Government; it is a concept of Mahatma Gandhi. According to him a society must be built in which every village has to be self-sustained and capable of managing its own affairs.
We at G3S Foundation envision better accessibility of quality education for underprivileged children. We also have the vision of empowering the farmers and women in rural areas and homeless people in cities. We believe that if people were more aware of various govt. schemes and their rights and if they were provided adequate opportunities, they will be able to emerge out of their hopeless condition of living and will not be forced to migrate to cities in order to make ends meet.
Our team is on the mission to put an end to the migration of agriculturists and womenfolk from villages to the cities, caused due to the lack of quality education and lack of awareness regarding the govt.’s welfare programmes, by empowering them to become self-sufficient. We try to ensure that the policies and programmes started by the government for the benefit of farmers, womem, children and homeless people reach the deserving beneficiaries.
G3S works for social Upliftment of the families that have migrated from villages to the cities through various welfare projects. G3S especially focus on empowering the status of women. The whole journey begins from Delhi and taking it to other parts of India. Currently we are focusing on Bihar and Delhi.
It is our belief that education is the most powerful weapon for social transformation. However, a child cannot attain education in isolation. For the children to attend school regularly and learning actively, their families, especially the women in the family, have to be aware and empowered. The G3S Foundation attempts to provide an environment and opportunities that could bring positive changes in the community.
