Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Family Law Attorney to join our growing Richmond, Virginia office. In this role, you will independently manage and lead complex family law matters, including divorce, custody, child support, property division, and protective order cases. This is a full-time, in-office position offering a dynamic and challenging caseload, with opportunities to mentor junior attorneys and contribute to the continued expansion of our Virginia family law practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a substantial caseload of family law matters from client intake through final resolution.
• Conduct legal research, draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery, and settlement agreements.
• Represent clients in court hearings, trials, mediations, and depositions.
• Provide compassionate, strategic counsel and maintain consistent communication with clients.
• Collaborate with colleagues and mentor junior attorneys to ensure high-quality advocacy and client service.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in Virginia (required).
• 5–8 years of family law experience, including significant litigation and trial work.
• Exceptional legal writing, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to develop case strategies and deliver results-oriented, client-centered advocacy.
• Demonstrated leadership ability and an interest in mentoring junior attorneys.
