Job Purpose

The Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) presents a unique opportunity to work with cutting edge technology and address complex business challenges in the financial sector. The Quality Assurance Engineer   plays a key role in testing and delivering trading support applications for world class Derivatives Exchange, while acting as primary point of contact for Production Support queries and working closely with Operations, Engineering and Product Management teams. The successful candidate will be able to multitask in a dynamic team-based environment while demonstrating strong problem solving, extensive technical skills, decision-making abilities, and the highest level of professionalism. The candidate is also expected to be self-motivated individual who has a proven history of delivering high quality test results and can thrive in a fast-paced environment.

This role requires frequent interaction with project managers, developers, product managers, and technical automation analysts to ensure that we deliver a quality new product launch experience to our users. Analytical skills and ability to understand and test pricing calculation models are crucial for the role.

 

A Quality Assurance Engineer   candidate must be a self-motivated individual who has a proven history of delivering high quality test results and is able to thrive in a fast-pace environment. This role requires frequent interaction with Project Managers, Product Managers, Software Developers and Database Administrators. The candidate will be tasked with understanding business and system requirements, database schemas, writing and executing test scenarios and logging and tracking defects when necessary. The candidate is expected to demonstrate a strong knowledge of software testing, including functional, regression, and system testing. The candidate will be expected to have strong SQL knowledge and is able to do data analyses.

 

Responsibilities

• Reviewing business and functional requirements to produce a test strategy and test cases.
• Develop, execute and maintain test cases for new and existing application features
• Report bugs, help manage the bug triage process and ensure all issues are handled efficiently
• Provide timely status updates and assist the team in making decisions about release readiness
• Participate in all aspects of a full-lifecycle development methodology, and related quality concepts and processes
• Performs troubleshooting software / hardware configuration problems
• Exposed to automation test execution and automation test script maintenance
• Identifies and resolves escalations with emphasis on root cause analysis
• Communicates plans and status efficiently and helps to ensures team is on track for all testing efforts

Knowledge and Experience

• Computer Science or related degree
• 5+ years’ experience in reviewing product requirements and design, creating test plans, and testing distributed web based applications
• 5+ years’ Web-based GUI testing for Java/J2EE applications using data driven test methodologies
• Experience using ALM or similar test management tools
• 2+ years’ experience programming in Python or Java
• Experience working in UNIX/Linux and SQL/Oracle environments
• Experience working with test automation tools
• Comfortable with test automation execution and maintenance
• Solid understanding of Agile/SCRUM methodologies a plus
• Ability to work independently and productively under pressure
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, technical, and troubleshooting skills
• Track record of completing assignments on time with a high degree of quality
• Ability to set priorities and multi-task in a fast paced environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and decision making ability
