Job Description

We are currently looking for a  Project Manager  for a Remote position supporting a large federal government program. This role is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of complex IT application and system projects, ensuring successful delivery through Agile and SAFe DevSecOps methodologies. The position requires close collaboration with technical teams, VA leadership, and key stakeholders to drive delivery, manage risks, and align project outcomes with broader organizational and portfolio objectives within a federal environment.

The candidate must reside within the continental US.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the full lifecycle of applications and systems projects from intake through customer delivery, leveraging the SAFe DevSecOps framework.
• Lead and manage Agile Scrum teams, products, and delivery processes throughout the project lifecycle.
• Partner with technical leads to support CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure modernization, and DevSecOps initiatives.
• Develop, manage, and maintain project schedules using Agile project management methodologies and tools.
• Track and report on project milestones, risks, dependencies, impediments, and escalation items.
• Present project vision, strategy, roadmaps, and delivery plans to VA leadership, stakeholders, and governance bodies.
• Coordinate with VA leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to manage dependencies, align priorities, and mitigate risks across products and portfolios.
• Expedite and coordinate services required to support complex enterprise initiatives.
• Collaborate with VA stakeholders and internal development teams to define, communicate, and execute implementation strategies.
• Contribute to team objectives and take on additional responsibilities as needed to ensure project success.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business, or a related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of experience managing IT projects with demonstrated ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks.
• Extensive experience managing complex IT initiatives in fast-paced, high-stress environments.
• Proven ability to translate project activities into executive-level reports, presentations, and written communications.
• Strong experience with project lifecycle management and delivery methodologies.
• Experience tracking and managing costs, schedules, and performance metrics.
• PMP and/or SAFe certifications preferred.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining delivery timelines.

Additional Qualifications:

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.
• Prior strategic management or management consulting experience is a plus.
• Experience managing IT projects within a federal government environment is a plus.
