Job Title: Travel Surgical Technologist – Operating Room (OR General)

Location: Hyannis, MA

Job Type: Contract | Local or Travel

Shift: Day Shift | 5x8s

Pay Range: $1,950 – $2,062.50 weekly

Position Summary

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking  Surgical Technologist – Operating Room (OR General) for an exciting Travel or Local job in  Hyannis, MA.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room with surgical instruments, equipment, drapes, and solutions.
• Maintain sterile techniques in compliance with AORN Standards of Care and hospital policies.
• Perform scrub technician functions across multiple surgical specialties.
• Assemble, inspect, and adjust sterile/non-sterile equipment for proper function.
• Pass instruments and sterile supplies during procedures.
• Assist with retractors, sutures, counts, dressings, and specimen handling.
• Ensure availability of surgeon- and case-specific instruments based on preference cards.
• Assist with patient positioning, transfers, and safe handling in the OR.
• Operate sterilizers and apply proper sterilization methods.
• Manage diagnostic equipment, lights, suction, and other OR devices.
• Safely prepare and label medications under RN/surgeon direction.
• Support OR turnover, cleaning, and restocking between cases.
• Protect patient privacy, dignity, and safety at all times.
• Contribute to staff orientation, in-service programs, and professional development.
• Collaborate with RNs on specialty instrumentation and equipment needs.
• Consistently uphold service excellence standards.

Qualifications:

• Strong communication skills in verbal and written English.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology Program (civilian or military).
• National certification (e.g., CST) required within 12 months of graduation, issued by an NCCA-accredited organization recognized by ACS and AST.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Orthopedic surgical experience is strongly preferred.
