A leading Southern California heavy civil contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee infrastructure, roadway, and public works projects across the region. This organization is known for delivering high-quality work, strong client partnerships, and longstanding relationships with state and municipal agencies.
The Project Manager will lead the full project lifecycle—from pre-construction through closeout—managing field teams, subcontractors, budgets, schedules, safety, and client communication. This role requires someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment and knows how to drive results without sacrificing quality or compliance.
Manage day-to-day project operations for roadway, structural concrete, drainage, and public works projects
Oversee project budgets, cost controls, and forecasting
Lead project scheduling, coordinating field activities, subcontractors, and material logistics
Review and interpret plans, specs, and contract documents
Maintain strong relationships with clients, inspectors, and agency representatives
Ensure strict adherence to safety standards and regulatory requirements
Prepare and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
Partner with superintendents to ensure productivity, quality, and timely project delivery
Support estimating teams during bid preparation as needed
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred)
5+ years of experience in heavy civil construction project management
Proven success managing Caltrans, county, or city public works projects
Strong understanding of roadway, concrete, grading, and utility scopes
Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Proficiency with project management and construction software (e.g., Bluebeam, P6, Procore, MS Project)
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with accuracy and professional judgment
