Location: 

On-site in Lynchburg, Virginia

Your Day to Day as a Met Lab Engineer 2: 

• Provides technical support for lab personnel, lab processes, and lab inspection equipment.
• Provides technical documentation/Metallographic reports to internal and external customers. 
• Interprets contract technical requirements and incorporates into area procedures.
• Supports a project team, communicating status of any technical or production issue.
  
• Supports development and implementation of new or improved inspection techniques.
  
• Creates and revises procedures, forms, and submittals.
• Supports quotes for future work scopes.
• Maintains and trends relevant manufacturing/inspection data and key product attributes.
• May be expected to qualify as a Met Lab Examiner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications: 

• A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Physics is required.
• Must have experience in understanding, reviewing, and executing contract technical requirements.
• Must be able to demonstrate superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Must have experience providing guidance and written instructions to hourly workforce.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is required.
• Must be highly self -motivated and directed with keen attention to detail in order to successfully multi -task.
• Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:  

• Experience in the qualification of new process/product or equipment preferred.
• Experience working within NOGL systems (EtQ, DocQnet, Solumina, Code Compliance, and SmartForms) strongly preferred.
