Job Description

Human Resources Professional – Leadership Opportunity with Room to Grow

At Agape of Appleton, Inc., we are more than a workplace—we are a community. As a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing compassionate care and support, our mission is to serve with dignity, respect, and excellence. We believe our employees are our greatest asset, and we are committed to creating a culture where caregivers and staff feel supported, valued, and empowered to do their best work.

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources professional to help guide our organization through the next phase of growth. This role is designed for someone who brings a strong HR background and leadership skills—but we also welcome applications from early-career candidates with the drive and potential to grow into the role.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and support HR initiatives in recruitment, employee engagement, training, compliance, and organizational development
  • Manage and administer employee benefits programs, including health, retirement, leave, short term disability, return to work program and other initiatives, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Partner with managers and leadership to address employee relations, performance management, and workforce planning
  • Contribute to shaping policies and practices that foster a positive, inclusive, and mission-driven workplace culture
  • Provide mentorship and collaborate across departments to deliver HR solutions that support both our employees and the residents we serve
  • For early-career professionals: support day-to-day HR operations (including benefits and onboarding) while receiving training and mentorship to build expertise

What We’re Looking For

  • Demonstrated experience in Human Resources, ideally with exposure to benefits management, employee relations, compliance, and organizational development
  • A strong sense of empathy, integrity, and commitment to service—aligned with our mission of caregiving and residential support
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage compassionately across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
  • Familiarity with employment law, HR systems, and certifications (PHR/SPHR/SHRM) preferred
  • For entry-level applicants: a degree in HR, business, or related field—or equivalent work experience with a strong interest in HR and nonprofit service

Why Join Us?

  • A leadership-driven HR role with influence across a nonprofit caregiving organization
  • Opportunities for professional development, mentorship, and advancement
  • A collaborative and supportive environment where staff well-being is as important as the care we provide
  • Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits to include:
  • A wide variety of low-cost and no-cost health insurance plans to choose from - you pick the insurance plan and medical providers that work best for you!
  • Low-cost dental, vision, short-term disability, and life insurance plans available
  • Flexible spending and health savings accounts
  • 403(b) retirement plan
  • Opportunities for bonuses
  • Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) eligible employer
  • Paid training and continuing education

If you are a seasoned HR professional ready to take on a key role—or an emerging talent eager to learn and grow—we encourage you to apply and explore what your future could look like with Agape!
