Position Summary
Terraces at DeKalb is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Housekeeper / Janitor to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our apartment community. This individual will handle the cleaning of vacant apartments, laundry facilities, leasing offices, and all shared interior spaces.

Core Responsibilities
Common Area Cleaning & Sanitation
• Clean and sanitize interior common areas, including:
Hallways, stairwells, entryways, and lobbies
Laundry rooms and leasing offices
Community rooms and shared restrooms (if applicable)
• Disinfect high-touch surfaces such as door handles, railings, and light switches
• Ensure all areas remain tidy, clean, and stocked with supplies during your shift
Vacant Unit Turnovers
• Perform deep cleaning of apartments after residents move out, including:
Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors
Cleaning kitchen appliances, cabinets, counters, and sinks
Sanitizing bathrooms (toilets, tubs, mirrors, tile)
Dusting baseboards, windowsills, and light fixtures
Light Maintenance Support
• Notify the maintenance team of any damage or repair needs
• Assist with supply inventory and report when cleaning products need restocking
Job Requirements
• At least 1 year of janitorial or housekeeping experience preferred
• Ability to lift, carry, or move up to 30 lbs
• Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and climb stairs
• Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
• Basic knowledge of cleaning tools and supplies; understanding of chemical safety
• Good communication and time management skills
• Reliable, professional, and courteous attitude
Preferred Skills (Not Required)
• Experience cleaning apartment communities or commercial properties
• Familiarity with light maintenance tools or tasks
• Willingness to learn and follow OSHA safety guidelines
