Job Description

Family Physician, MD – Outpatient & Hospitalist | Northern Arizona

Location: Winslow, Arizona
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Compensation: Starting at $250,000 + bonus potential

About the Opportunity

A well-established, mission-driven Critical Access Hospital in Northern Arizona is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Family Physician (MD) to join its collaborative care team. Serving more than 32,000 residents across a broad region—including Native American communities—this hospital has been a cornerstone of rural healthcare for decades. It offers a full spectrum of medical services, with modern facilities and a supportive, community-focused environment.

This role is ideal for a physician seeking a diverse scope of practice across outpatient primary care, urgent care, and hospitalist medicine within a close-knit rural setting. For those with aspirations in leadership, this position provides a clear pathway toward a Chief of Staff role, contributing to clinical operations and shaping the future of healthcare delivery in the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Outpatient & Urgent Care: Provide comprehensive care for acute and chronic conditions through scheduled appointments and walk-in services.

  • Hospitalist Duties: Manage weekday inpatient rounding and admissions in partnership with the ER team.

  • Integrated Care: Collaborate seamlessly with clinic, emergency, and inpatient teams to ensure continuity of care.

  • Leadership Development: Opportunity to advance into a Chief of Staff role with influence over clinical strategy and operations.

  • Call Schedule: Night and weekend coverage with enhanced pay.

Qualifications

Required:

  • MD or DO from an accredited institution

  • Board Certification or Eligibility in Family Medicine (or Internal Medicine)

  • Active or eligible for an Arizona Medical License (unrestricted)

  • Minimum of 5 years clinical experience

Preferred:

  • Experience in rural or Critical Access Hospital settings

  • Proficient in managing both acute and chronic care

  • Skilled in urgent care and developing a primary care panel

  • Interest or experience in clinical leadership or administration

  • Comfort working across outpatient, inpatient, and ER departments

Why This Role?

  • Exceptional Benefits: 100% employer-paid medical, dental, vision, life, and long-term disability insurance

  • Generous PTO & Retirement: 33 days of paid time off and a 403(b) with 4.5% employer match

  • Stable & Mission-Driven: Serve in a community-centered, financially stable organization

  • Professional Growth: Clear leadership pathways and a highly collaborative medical team

  • Lifestyle Perks: Northern Arizona offers unparalleled outdoor recreation, a strong sense of community, and a relaxed pace of life.

Make an Impact

This is more than just a job—it’s an opportunity to deliver high-quality, compassionate care where it’s needed most, while enjoying a rewarding career with leadership potential.
