Emergency Medicine Physician

Pay rate: $179.00 per hour.

Location:  Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center, 1 Med Center Dr. Clarksburg, WV 26301.

Shifts: 

7:00am to 7:00pm, 8:00am to 8:00pm, 9:00am to 9:00pm, 10:00am to 10:00pm, 12:00pm to 8:00pm OR 7pm to 7:00am Wednesday through Tuesday.

Duties:

• Shall cover a range of emergency services as would be provided in a state-of-the-art healthcare treatment facility meeting recognized national standards as established by the American Board of Emergency Medicine, American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine, American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), Society of Academic Emergency Medicine (SAEM), American Academy of Emergency Medicine (AAEM), The Joint Commission (TJC), and the American Hospital Association (AHA).
• Evaluation, emergent treatment, and management.
• Central venous line placement, arterial catheter placement, emergency chest tube or needle thoracostomy to relieve tension pneumothorax, peritoneal lavage, defibrillation and synchronized cardioversion, endotracheal intubation, lumbar puncture, proctoscopy/anoscopy, pericardiocentesis, simple closed fracture and dislocation reduction, arthrocentesis, local/regional anesthesia, moderate and/or deep procedural sedation, pericardiocentesis, temporary pacemaker placement, chest tube thoracostomy and cricothyroidotomy.

Requirements:

• Physicians shall have a current license to practice medicine in any state, territory, or commonwealth of the United States or District of Columbia.
• Shall be Board Certified or Board Eligible.
• Shall have a maintain ACLS and BLS certifications.
