Job Description



Work Schedule: Full Time, 8AM - 4 PM

The Database Specialist is responsible for database integrity, compliance to STS and Heart Failure core measure standards, and collection efficiencies. This position is also responsible for upholding institutional policy on release of data, patient confidentiality and database security standards, in accordance with patient rights.

  1. MANAGES DATA INTEGRITY: Upholds institutional policy on release of data, patient confidentiality and database security standards, in accordance with patient rights. Directs and educates all involved in data entry about confidentiality policy. Assures that data is accurate and relevant for performance improvement initiatives. Provides timely information and reporting of PI data and information. Routinely assesses the integrity of PI data and information across the organization and initiate processes to resolve data issues. Maintains confidentiality of PI data and information and manages data and information consistent with the SJMC confidentiality policy. -
  2. RESPONSIBLE FOR DATABASE INTEGRITY, COMPLIANCE TO STS AND HEART FAILURE CORE MEASURE STANDARDS, AND COLLECTION EFFICIENCIES: Performs data input and output of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) database and Heart Failure database. Data collection methods utilized to achieve 100% completed forms. Meets data entry deadlines with appropriate levels of human resources for the task; 100% OHS cases and 100% principle diagnosis heart failure. Adheres to STS / Heart Failure core measure compliance standards. Systematically verifies database with status report.

Qualifications



Education

  • 2 year / Associate's Degree (Required)
  • 4 year / Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)

Certification / Licensure / Registration

  • State Registered Nurse License (Required)

Experience and Skills

  • 0 - 1 year Society of Thoracic Surgery Database Heart Failure Core Measure database (Required)
  • 2 - 4 years experience (Required)
  • 0 - 1 year Familiarity with Meditech, databases and spreadsheets (Preferred)
