Job Description
We are seeking a Database Developer with strong experience in PostgreSQL and SQL to support our Experience Studies team. This role focuses on designing and developing robust database solutions, automating manual processes, and enabling predictive analysis of detailed policy-level data. The ideal candidate will have a solid development background, experience with actuarial data, and expertise in building efficient database structures that support analytical workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop database solutions using PostgreSQL and SQL (DDL/DML)
Create and optimize data structures, indexing strategies, and queries for performance
Automate manual processes related to seriatim policy data
Support assumption setting and predictive analysis for insurance policies
Incorporate mortality assumptions and other actuarial inputs into database design
Collaborate closely with internal teams and stakeholders
Interface directly with clients in a front-facing capacity
Contribute to tools and processes that streamline experience studies

Skills and Requirements
5-7 years of experience in database development (mid to senior level)
Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL, SQL (DDL/DML), and database design principles
Hands-on experience with data modeling, schema design, and indexing
Skilled with GitHub and GitHub Copilot
Familiarity with seriatim data and actuarial datasets
Ability to support predictive analysis and actuarial modeling
Excellent communication skills and comfort in client-facing roles - Python experience for data analysis and automation (highly preferred)
Background in insurance or actuarial domains
