Job Description

Core responsibilities

• Cleaning: Sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming floors; dusting furniture and surfaces; cleaning walls, windows, and mirrors.
• Sanitation: Scrubbing and sanitizing restrooms, and restocking supplies like soap and toilet paper.
• Waste removal: Gathering and emptying trash receptacles and transporting trash to designated disposal areas.
• Minor maintenance: Performing minor repairs, such as replacing light bulbs, and taking care of cleaning equipment.
• Inventory management: Keeping track of cleaning supplies and notifying supervisors when they are running low.
• Outdoor upkeep: Cleaning sidewalks, sweeping entrances, and performing seasonal tasks like mowing grass or shoveling snow.
• Security: Ensuring buildings are locked and lights are turned off after hours.

Requirements:

• Prior experience as a custodian or janitor preferred
• Ability to handle cleaning chemicals and equipment safely
• Attention to detail and thoroughness in cleaning tasks
• Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects
