Job Title: Biodiesel Lab Technician Department: Laboratory
Location: REG Grays Harbor
Duration: 3- months ( Contract to Perm )
Employment Type: Hourly (Non-Exempt)
Position Overview An Oil & Gas company is seeking a Biodiesel Lab Technician to support laboratory operations focused on product quality and feedstock validation. This role involves hands-on testing, data analysis, and equipment maintenance to ensure compliance with industry standards and internal quality programs.
Key Responsibilities Quality Testing - Conduct routine testing on raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and co-products.
- Accurately record and report test results.
Analytical Testing & Data Interpretation - Operate laboratory instruments such as:
- GC-FID
- Karl Fischer titrator
- Densitometer
- ICP
- Sulfur analyzer
- Analyze and communicate test results to management.
- Calibrate and verify instruments per ASTM D6751, EN 14124, and internal protocols.
- Participate in quality programs including SQC, BQ-9000®, AGQM, and FSMA. Lab Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Prepare laboratory standards and reagents.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for lab accuracy and precision.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
General Duties - Maintain a clean and organized lab environment.
- Complete administrative tasks and timely data entry.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education - Associate degree in a science-related field preferred.
- Relevant laboratory experience may substitute for formal education.
Experience:
Technician: minimum 2 years of relevant lab experience
Skills - Strong verbal and written communication
- Attention to detail and documentation
- Ability to follow instructions and manage multiple tasks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio)
- Preferred: Experience with SAP, JD Edwards, or AVEVA™ PI System™
Work Requirements - Availability for rotating shifts (8, 10, or 12 hours) and overtime
